Welcome! We are excited that you are interested in Cross of Christ Lutheran Church! We are a missional church in the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod.

Our desire is to share the cross of Jesus and His abundant grace - through worship, relationships and outreach.

Core Values: "Grace Alone, Scripture Alone, and Faith Alone"
As Missouri Synod Lutherans our teachings and doctrine can be summarized in three short phrases:
Grace Alone: God loves the people of the world, even though we are sinful, rebel against Him, and do not deserve his love.
Scripture Alone: All scripture is written by divine inspiration of God, in which He reveals His Law and the Gospel of salvation in Jesus Christ.
Faith Alone: Jesus' suffering and death is the substitute for all people of all time. He purchased and won forgiveness and eternal life for all. Those who hear the Good News and believe, through the Holy Spirit, will have eternal life.

We believe that God made us to live in community. He made us in His image, which is perfect community - God is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

To be made in His image means that we were made to be in relationship with Him and with others. However, our sins have broken the relationship with God. We would be eternally separated from God if we did not have the Good News. This is the message of the Cross of Christ, that Jesus Christ came to the earth as true man and true God. He lived a perfect life and died on the cross as a perfect sacrifice, taking the punishment for our sins.

But He didn't stay in the grave - Jesus rose from the dead, revealed Himself to many disciples, and is now sitting at the right hand of God. He is coming again in all His glory to judge the world. John 3:18 says, "Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son."

This is the most important message - the message of Christ and what He has done. We desire to live in our restored relationship with God and love Him and others, inviting them into the wonderful Life that is found only in Jesus Christ as He comes to us through His Word and Sacrament!
